Als freie Übersetzerin habe ich mich auf Buchübersetzungen aus dem Deutschen ins Britisch-Englische spezialisiert. Dabei arbeite ich (fast) ausschließlich mit Autorinnen und Autoren, die ihre Bücher selbst veröffentlichen, und übernehme Buchprojekte aus den Bereichen Belletristik, Kinderbücher, manchmal auch Sachbücher sowie biografische und autobiografische Werke.

Ich verstehe wieviel Herzblut in Ihrem Buch steckt und behandle die mir anvertrauten Texte mit großem Respekt. Dazu gehört, dass ich nachfrage, wenn mir im Originaltext etwas unklar ist. Selbstverständlich bleibe ich Ihrem Stil treu und gebe nicht nur die Worte, sondern auch die Atmosphäre Ihres Buches in der englischen Sprache wieder. Preise & Konditionen

Meine Preise und Konditionen sind so autorenfreundlich wie möglich gehalten. Ich erstelle für jedes Projekt einen individuellen Kostenvoranschlag und Zeitplan. Bei Belletristik und Kinderbüchern können Sie von einem Richtpreis von 25 Euro pro Normseite ausgehen, bei Sachbüchern kann der Preis pro Normseite, je nach Sachgebiet, entsprechend höher liegen. (Eine Normseite besteht aus 1500 Zeichen mit Leerzeichen.) Immer im Preis inbegriffen sind Lektorat und Abschlusskorrektorat durch einen britischen Muttersprachler. Der Zeitrahmen für Übersetzung plus Lektorat/Korrektorat variiert je nach Länge und Komplexität. Als Richtwert für einen Roman von ca. 300 Seiten möchte ich ungefähr 5 bis 6 Monaten ansetzen.

Ratenzahlungen sind ein automatischer Bestandteil des Übersetzungsvertrags, der für jedes Projekt erstellt wird. Da ich Kleinunternehmerin bin, fällt keine Umsatzsteuer an (nach § 19 UstG).

I specialise in translating German books into British-English. Working predominantly with independent authors, I take on translation projects in the following genres: fiction, children’s books and selected non-fiction as well as (auto)biography. Terms & Prices

My terms and conditions are geared as much as possible to the needs of indie authors. Each project is individually priced and quoted, payment by instalments is possible and in fact mandatory for standard-sized book projects, where translation and payment are divided into three or four parts. Details are specified in the translation contract that is a prerequisite for any book translation. The time frame depends on the length and complexity of the source text, but to give you some idea, I would allow five to six months for an average-length fiction book.

Prices for book translations start from €25 per standard page (1500 characters including spaces) for fiction. For non-fiction, the standard-page price depends on the complexity of the source text. Additional proofreading is always included in the price. Please note that I am VAT-exempt according to § 19 UstG.
